But, the main reason for his visit was to be a servant. Senator Graham told the board members, “The main thing I just want to do is find out what I can do to help.”

Senator Graham touted the power of improving the infrastructure.  He said, “The Highway Bill is going to be reauthorized.” He said that this will be a great piece of legislation to help South Carolina, as well as, all of the country.   “I am always working for things that are going to make a regional impact,” Senator Graham said. Senator Graham spoke on the importance of the China tariff to let them know that America is serious when it comes to trade.   “It (the tariff) is going to hurt,” Sen. Graham said. “However, it is the only tool that President Trump has that is going to get their  (The Chinese government’s) attention. Trump has been on this for 30 years. The next round of tariffs is going to be around 350 billion dollars. Right now we are affecting the supply chain.  But, it is going to affect you at Walmart.”

The tariff is going to be a weapon that could hurt our economy for  a little while while we are seeking a resolution. Senator Graham said, “I hope we don’t settle just to get a settlement.  The next round of tariffs is going to be around 350 billion dollars. Right now we are affecting the supply chain. But, it is going to ( eventually) affect you at Walmart.”

The senator praises the accomplishments of President Donald Trump.  “He has done more than anybody has since I been around,” Sen. Graham said.  “ The Biggest thing is USMCA (United States Mexico Canada Agreement). We will win there and that will take the pressure off.”

As mentioned earlier, infrastructure is high on Senator Graham’s agenda as ways to keep the American economy going.  The senator said, “If you want to keep things humming infrastructure bills – roads, bridges and modernizing airports – will do it.”
