Rev. Jeffrey Salley

The Reverend Jeffrey Salley is a native of Walterboro, South Carolina.  He is the son of Bertha Salley and the late Vergil Salley. Reverend Salley completed his primary and secondary education in Walterboro, South Carolina. Reverend Salley received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with honors from Claflin University, a Master of Arts degree with honors in Technical Writing and cognate, Training & Development from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, and the master of divinity degree with honors in Pastoral Care and Counseling from the Interdenominational Theological Center, Atlanta, Georgia.

 Reverend Salley has served as the Congregational Specialist for African-American Ministries and Congregational Specialist Columbia-Hartsville Districts, Senior Pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, Bennettsville, South Carolina; and New Hope & Saint Paul United Methodist Churches, Ridgeville, South Carolina. He is the former director of the Bennettsville-Cheraw Area Cooperative Ministries.

Reverend Salley is actively involved as a clergy member of the South Carolina Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.  He has served as the District Registrar for the Walterboro Committee on Ordained Ministry; the chair of the Marion District Committee on Ordained Ministry as well as a member of the Academy of Pastoral & Theological Enrichment Planning Committee, Marion District; chairperson, Scholarship Committee for the South Carolina Annual Conference Board of Ordained Ministry, a member of the Bible Study Committee, and a member of the Committee on Conference Relations.  Reverend Salley also serves as a mentor and coach to several clergy members and candidates for ministry.

Reverend Salley is an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church who patterns his life based on John Wesley’s philosophy of life, “Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.”

The mission of the Praise Out Cancer Foundation to provide cancer awareness education and to provide support to cancer treatment centers, this year’s benefit concert features talented gospel artists, entertainers, and dynamic speakers that included Malqueen Rivers, breast cancer spokesperson, Anthony Minter, prostate cancer spokesperson, gospel artist: the Gospel Lioness, Mekiella Young, Family Affair, The Men of Praise, Jayla Jackson, J. A. M., comedian Dwight Glenn, the fashions of Atlanta’s House of Glam Couture and the dance interpretations of Vertical Worship’s Angela Brown. The 2019 Concert is projected to be one of our most successful due to our exciting lineup and the location of downtown St. George, SC’s Lourie Theater!

The 2019 Praise Out Cancer will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 starting at 5 pm. Don’t forget to stop the Lourie for a fish and fries lunch, beginning at 11 am. Please help us spread the word! See you at the Lourie! Tickets available at:

Rev. Whaley received a degree in engineering from the United States Marine corps, where he stayed for 20 years. Ordained in the Baptist Association from Carolina theological Bible Institute, he received a bachelor degree in theology from International Seminary located in Plymouth Florida, also receiving a bachelor degree in Christian Counseling, and master of divinity from Carolina theological Bible Institute.  He is presently an associate preacher at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, he currently serves as assistant Bible study teacher for the Mount Zion Baptist Union.
